Casual but still upscale, this NKBA award winning design features an open plan that functions equally well as an efficient kitchen or as a center for entertaining and. everyday living.

To improve function and capitalize on the available space, the old kitchen walls came down. The kitchen was moved forward creating space for a laundry room out of the kitchen area. Plumbing and electrical connections were relocate&and an efficient L-shaped work, area plotted around the perimeter of one end of the room. A gently curved, bi-level island serves as the main cleanup area, acts as a snack bar for dining or socializing and closes the work area off from through traffic, yet keeps the entire room open to the cook’s view. Just outside the main work area a buffet and storage area accommodates an entertainment center, wet bar and baking center. A splash of color on the island and in the china collection stored behind glass doors add interest that can be changed easily.

Special design features: Flat, maple laminate cabinet doors with black handles; black granite countertops; brushed stainless steel range hood; decorative light fixture over the snack bar.

Products used: Allmilmö "Optima" cabinety; Nero granite countertops; Blanco sinks, KWC faucets; Themador oven, cooktop; Sub-Zero refrigerator ASKO dishwasher; Marvel wine grotto.
