The original kitchen was small, dark and took little advantage of the beautiful mountain and river view. In designing the new kitchen, the walls between the kitchen and family room, as well as a small nook, were bumped out and more windows were added to bring in the natural light and outstanding view. The result is a dramatic, flooding of light and a feeling of spaciousness. The kitchen was designed for two cooks who entertain frequently. Since opening up the view was the prime priority normal cabinet storage was minimal. By designing a tall, angled glass cabinet, the designer was able to provide a beautiful solution for storing everyday dishes.

Special design features: Bake center with second sink and three appliance garages; raised snack bar with fluted columns that hide the support posts; two large pantries.

Products used: Wood-Mode “Newport” cabinetry in Sandstone finish; Sub-Zero refrigerator; Thermador cooktop, oven, warming drawer, waste disposer and dishwasher; Luwa brass/chrome faucet; Corian Cameo White sink and Aurora countertops; granite tiles; Unique ceramic tile flooring in Aspen.
